How to Apply For Renewal of Company Secretary License
All applications relating to corporate intermediaries including application for renewal of company secretary licence shall be submitted through the
Corporate Registry System (CRS). Applicants who do not have an SSM4U account are required to register as a user through SSM4U to obtain access to the CRS portal before submitting their applications online.
Please ensure that your CPE points have been updated in the Corporate Registry System (CRS) through the "Updates Particulars of Company Secretary Licence Information" function before proceeding with your company secretary licence renewal application.
The application for renewal of the licence must be submitted at least thirty (30) days before the licence expiry date with the prescribed application fee of RM350.00. The application fee paid is non-refundable.
For the approval, SSM will take into consideration of the requirements as stated below:
- The secretary shall not be an undischarged bankrupt;
- The secretary shall not be convicted whether in or outside Malaysia of any offence referred to in section 198 of the Companies Act 2016;
- The secretary shall not be convicted whether in or outside Malaysia of any offence involving fraud or dishonesty punishable on conviction with imprisonment for three months or more;
- The secretary shall not have any pending legal action against him under any provision of the Companies Act 2016 or the law specified in the First Schedule of the Companies Act 2016;
- The secretary has complied with CPE points requirement; and
- The Secretary has complied with the terms and conditions of the license.
